Join us in making a difference! Warm Elders is always looking for dedicated volunteers to help with logging, firewood distribution, and community outreach. Volunteering with us is a rewarding way to give back to the community, support those in need, and learn valuable skills. Learn more about our volunteer opportunities and how you can get involved.

How to Volunteer

Sign Up

Fill out our online volunteer application form. 

 

Attend a volunteer orientation session to learn about our mission, programs, and your role.

Training

Participate in our mandatory training sessions, which include chainsaw safety, equipment handling, and environmental stewardship.

Scheduling

Volunteers can choose to work on weekends or weekdays based on their availability.

 

Our activities ramp up during the summer for wood collection and preparation, and during the winter for distribution.

Benefits

Volunteers will be provided with a dedicated break area, porta potty, water, food, snacks, gloves, and safety provisions. We believe in taking care of those who take care of our community.

Our Expectations

Dedicate enough time to volunteer activities that allows for your cord of wood, as well as helping process a cord of wood for another family.

Complete safety trainings and strictly follow safety guidelines

Complete assigned tasks diligently and efficiently

Work cooperatively with other volunteers and staff

Respect confidentiality and privacy of the individuals we serve

What To Wear

We want you to stay safe while we're working, so make sure you wear appropriate clothing and bring items that will help you have the most success. 

Clothing

  • Wear long sleeves and long pants to protect your skin.

  • Dress in layers during the winter to stay warm. 

  • Wear durable, weather-appropriate clothing

Footwear

  • Wear sturdy, closed-toe boots with good traction

Safety Gear

  • Helmets, gloves, and eye protection are mandatory and will be provided.

  • Chainsaw chaps will be provided during logging activities.

Additional Items

  • Bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated. 

  • Sunscreen and insect repellent are recommended for outdoor activities.
